From stargazing at the Makgadikgadi Pans, to gliding across the Okavango Delta on a traditional mokoro canoe, Botswana is the perfect destination for lovers of adventure, wildlife, and spectacular scenery. And speaking of wildlife, Botswana is home to the largest concentration of elephants in the world.
This unique, pulsating wetland covers around 15,000 square kilometers of the Kalahari Desert. You’ll get the chance to experience this beautiful landscape from the perspective of a traditional canoe, where you will glide effortlessly across the water, watching the scenery pass you by, marveling at the native wildlife including elephants, lions, and leopards.
Officially recognized as the largest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls is a must-see destination. You’ll get to see the falls from different vantage points, letting you admire the various points to which the water flows from.
By visiting a fully equipped camp, with bedding and camping supplies, you’ll get to spend the night amongst the wildlife, surrounded by lush scenery and the natural elements.

Wilderness & Wildlife of Botswana
Home to many UNESCO Heritage Listed sites, like the stunning Victoria Falls, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan, and the Okavango Delta, this sample itinerary will take you the best places to see and visit in Botswana. What’s more, you’ll be joined by the native wildlife, such as the huge population of elephants (approximately 130,000 in total), black and white rhino, lions, and leopards, to name a few.

Arrive in Maun and transfer to the campsite, located near the Thamalakane River.
Stay overnight at the Audi Camp or similar.

Prepare supplies for the next 2 nights. Then make a 4×4 transfer into the Okavango Delta via a polers station. You will arrive at a local village and be looked after by local hosts. Then travel deep into the delta via a mokoro, a traditional canoe made from modern, sustainable fiberglass, and go on a game walk in the late afternoon. Return to camp before sunset for a traditional meal.
Spend 3 nights at the Okavango Delta Wild Camp.

In the early morning, go for a game walk with an expert tour guide. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, you may see elephants, buffalo, and other small game. Return to camp for brunch and take a short canoe trip through the delta.

In the morning, travel back to the polers station then return to Maun. Spend time purchasing more supplies for the next few nights. Enjoy free leisure in the afternoon.

After breakfast, head east to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan, one of the largest of its kind in the world. Depending on weather conditions, you will camp wild on the pan or at a nearby campsite.
Stay overnight at the Makgadikgadi Pan wild camp or similar.

Head north for a long drive into Zimbabwe, followed by a journey to Victoria Falls. Completing the border formalities may take around 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic conditions.
Spend 2 nights at the Premier Lodge or similar.

Enjoy a full day of optional activities in Victoria Falls. Go white-water rafting, fly over the falls, or go on a self-guided nature walk.

Spend the morning viewing the Victorian Falls from the size of Zimbabwe, then return to Botswana. Take a short drive to the town of Kasane, and then set up camp by the Thebe River. Enjoy free leisure in the afternoon. Go a for a cruise down the Chobe River in search of game, such as elephant herds drinking straight from the river.
Stay overnight at the Thebe River Camp or similar.

Go for an early morning game drive to Chobe Waterfront. The region is most famous for its large elephant population, among other game such as wild dogs and lions. After exploring the north and southern region of the park, head south to the Savuti Area, where you can explore the Savuti Marsh and River channel.
Spend 2 nights at the Zwei-Zwei or Savuti Wild Camp.

Go for a morning and afternoon game drive in the Savuti Mash. Along the way you may see lions, hyenas, and cheetahs, including the occasional zebra migration.

In the morning, drive to the Moremi Game Reserve. En route, you’ll pass through various habits, including the Mbabe depression, Mopani Forest, and Acacia trees. Then arrive at Khawi village, followed by the Moremi National Park. The region is composed of eclectic landscapes, such as open grass lands, waterways, and marshes.
Spend 2 nights at the Moremi Wild Camp.

Go on both morning and afternoon game drives in Moremi National Park. Keep an eye out for a wide variety of wildlife, including local bird species. There is plenty of wet landscape, but also the occasional dry plains to break up the experience. There is also a lot of dense vegetation due to increased rainfall over the years.

Go on one last game drive in Moremi then return to Maun. Enjoy one last dinner at the campsite.
