You will visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites today. Meknes, the stunning hilltop city, will amaze you as it will offer you an insight into the new as well as the old. The city delights with its colourful souks selling textiles and souvenirs, whilst in its grasp lies the 12th Century Grand Mosque and an array of tea houses in dainty courtyards. You will also experience the impressively conserved Volubilis, built by the Romans in 1st Century A.D., which still stands with its stunning columns and arches and can be seen on your approach to the city. Whilst there, do observe its mosaic floors, which have stood the test of time.
Following this, visit a Moroccan vineyard and see the Bab Mansour entrance before a three-course supper with tastings.
Take a short flight from Fes to Marrakech, where you will stay at an authentic riad hotel.
Before exploring the souks, explore Bahia Palace’s labyrinth of vibrant streets. Visit the Djemaa el Fna to people-watch before going to the serene Majorelle Gardens. In the souks of the Marrakech medina, enjoy mint tea before bargaining over antique carpets, leather goods, and antique lamps.
