The Zambezi Valley
Located between Zambia and Zimbabwe, the Zambezi River is one of the most famous landmarks in Africa. It measures at 2,574 km long, has a 1,390,000 km 2 catchment area, and it is the fourth-largest river in Africa. In this sample itinerary you will not just explore this majestic river but also participate in other activities in the surrounding area, such as wildlife treks and game safaris.
Depart London
Arrive at Lusaka in the early afternoon and transfer to Nyamomba. On your way there, you will stop by a local supermarket, giving you the chance to stock up on food and beverages. There will also be a switch to a 4WD midway, as the terrain will become rougher and rockier.
Spend 2 nights wild camping.

Enjoy three days of canoeing and other activities in and near the Zambezi River. Most canoe trips will take place in the early morning, so as to avoid the blistering heat in the afternoon. Along the way you will witness majestic elephants, crocodiles, and numerous local bird species. You may also witness local inhabitants along the way, too.

Take a canoe to the Chiawa Game Management Area. Located about 18 kms away from Lower Zambezi National Park, straight across from the Mana Pools, you will spend the night in the Game Management Area.
The region is famous for its eclectic wildlife, home to kudus, waterbucks, warthogs, and Samango monkeys. Enjoy an afternoon game walk or game drive to explore the reserve and spot different species in their natural habitat.
Spend 2 nights at the Fly Camp in the Game Management Area.

In the morning, take a canoe to the Lower Zambezi National Park. Once there, enjoy a morning game walk and have lunch in the park under the comfort of a tree for shade. Then go on a game drive through the park, back to the Fly Camp at the Game Management Area.
If the water level in the Zambezi River is too high due to excess water from the nearby Lake Kariba, a boat may be used to reach the Lower Zambezi National Park.

Leave behind the Fly Camp and transfer by road to the Zambezi Breezes. Depending on the river conditions a boat transfer may be required to transfer back to the Zambezi Breezes.
Stay overnight at the Zambezi Breezes or similar.

In the early morning, enjoy breakfast then go on a 3-4 hour trip to Lusaka International Airport. Depart for London.
