Often referred to as the Happiest Country in the World, Finland is a magical place to visit. It is full of fun and engaging winter activities, such as dog sledding and wilderness survival training. You will also enjoy marvelous sights and scenery, including the Northern Lights (also known as the aurora borealis) that scatter the night sky over Lapland.
Located in the heart of the Karhunkierro Trail, Oulanda National Park is home to the Eco Lodge, a wilderness lodge where you will stay for 7 nights. While there, you will enjoy majestic sights of the impressive waterfalls, and explore trails that take you over hanging bridges and nearby rivers.
Prepare for the snow and enjoy memorable winter activities. Watch the world go by as huskies pull you on a sled. Visit a local ski resort and tear it up on the snow. Then, head into the wilderness, and learn all kinds of survival tips from an expert.
Away from the glitz and glamor of the city lights is the unique Northern Lights. The aurora borealis lights up the sky around 200 nights per year. So, if you plan on visiting Finland (during recommended travel times), then you will most likely see this magical spectacle.
In collaboration with NatureMetrics and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), you will have the chance to help contribute to conservation efforts, by assisting in the collection of freshwater samples during your journey.
