Since then, the site has become a fascinating source of information for researchers, and a popular tourist destination.

Return to the hotel by bus in the afternoon.
If the weather has severe fog, heavy rain, or storms, then you may not be able to visit Mount Vesuvius. If so, you’ll instead visit Herculaneum, which has lovingly preserved remains and a virtual museum.
