Home to majestic sights and sounds, the Canadian Rockies is the perfect destination for sightseeing, and a little bit of thrill seeking to get the blood pumping. Marvel at the stunning aquamarine lakes, unique wildlife, and the scenic Icefields Parkway. You’ll get it all – and more – in this sample itinerary.

Day 1: Vancouver

Enjoy free leisure of the city during the daytime. Then make your way to your hotel for a welcome meeting in the evening.

Stay overnight at the Sandman City Center Hotel or similar.

Days 2 – 3: Vancouver | Whistler

Make your way from Vancouver to Western Canada, Whistler. This beautiful winter resort has activities all year round, including hiking, biking, and zip lining.

Stay for 2 nights at the Aava Hotel or similar.

Day 4: Wells Gray Provincial Park

Travel to Wells Gray Provincial Park. Enjoy free leisure. Marvel at the incredible scenery atop the lush alpine meadows. See the wide variety of bird species and wildlife. And go on optional activities, including boating, canoeing, and kayaking.

Stay overnight at Clearwater Lodge or similar.

Days 5 – 6: Jasper National Park

Travel to the largest park in Canada, Jasper National Park. The region covers 10,878 square kilometers. It is renowned for delivering a true wilderness atmosphere due to being less developed than other national parks. Take part in various optional activities, such as the SkyTram cable car tour. You can also go mountain biking or hiking along the splendid lakeside scenery.

Stay for 2 nights at the Beckers Chalets or Tonquin Inn or similar.

Day 7: Icefields Parkway | Golden

Head to the Icefields Parkway. The trip is rated as one of the top scenic drives in the world. It features a 232km stretch of double-lane highway, taking you across the Continental Divide, through sprawling rocky mountain peaks and icefields. You can also go on an optional guided glacier hike. At the end of the day, go to Golden.

Stay for 2 nights at the Kicking Horse River Lodge or similar.

Day 8: Yoho National Park

Visit Yoho National Park near Golden. The park is surrounded by glaciers and waterfalls, including scenic mountain trails and even ancient marine life. There are plenty of optional activities, such as hiking, walking trails, and the stunning Lake O’Hara. Visit the Kicking Horse River, and then go on an optional half-day white water rafting session. Then return to Golden at night.

Day 9: Lake Louise | Banff National Park

Marvel at the vivid turquoise waters and soaring peaks at Lake Louise, a treasure of the Canadian Rockies. You can take part in several hikes that begin at the lakefront, and then take you on a trail along the water to nearby waterfalls. You will be amazed by the picturesque scenery that this majestic site has to offer. And in the winter, the lake goes completely frozen. During this time, you can go cross-country skiing across the lake, and scale the frozen waterfalls with ice climbers.

Days 10 – 11: Banff National Park

Make your way to Banff National Park. Established in 1885, it is the first national park ever established in Canada. The region is approximately 6,641 square kilometers large. It features incredible mountain scenery, stunning views of the Canadian Rockies, and it is close proximity to the hustling and bustling city of Calgary.

Go on a gondola ride to the very peak of Sulphur Mountain. Or alternatively, go on a scenic helicopter ride, marveling at the beautiful sights from a unique perspective. There are also optional hiking tours available and the chance to soak in the Sulphur Mountain Hot Springs.

Day 12: Calgary

Enjoy your last free roam of Banff National Park. Then drive back to Calgary to end your adventure. If desired, you can extend your stay and book post-tour accommodation in Calgary. Otherwise, the tour will end at your gateway hotel at around 17:00 hrs. Then depart for your flight back to London.
