Cruise the Amazon Rainforest

Start your journey in Lima, Peru. Take a short walk to your hotel, located in Lima Airport. Then meet your fellow travelers.

Fly from Lima to Iquitos and enjoy a welcome lunch with your fellow travelers. Then board the MV Zafiro riverboat, where you will spend the next 7 nights. Greet the crew onboard and familiarize yourself with the layout of the boat and your cabin.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail, watch the stars, and listen to your nature guides tell riveting stories.

For the next 6 nights, you will travel deep into the Amazon rainforest. The area is a complex maze of rivers, lakes, and forests. It is also a delight for the senses! You will hear a plethora of wild sounds, such as bird calls and primal yowls.

In the Amazonian Forest there are over 40,000 plant species and over 1,300 bird species. You may also encounter grey and pink dolphins during your travels.

You will visit 3 main habits over the next 6 nights, which include varzea, the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve, and the palm-flooded forest. You will encounter a wide range of wildlife during the day and night. Notable nocturnal creatures include frogs, potoos, caimans, and capybaras.

Each day, you will enjoy various daily excursions. You will watch birds in the early morning sunrise, visit the local villages to learn about their culture and be part pf a blessing ceremony, and even fish for piranhas.

In the morning, leave the MV Zafiro and say goodbye to the crew and guides. Visit the Amazon Rescue Center en route to the airport, where you will meet the volunteers and biologists who care for and release manatees into the wild.

Transfer to Iquitos and take a return flight to Lima. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Most guests leave the following day. However, if you wish to take an international flight in the evening, discuss this arrangement with your sales representative.

Otherwise, stay overnight at the Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport (four-star) or similar.

Your journey officially ends today. And you are free to leave Lima whenever you like.

In the morning, attend a ceramic painting class at a local bottega (artist studio).

From there, enjoy another highlight of the trip, a walk among the Path of the Gods. The famous hiking route takes you around the perimeter of the land, and it provides jaw-dropping views of the Amalfi Coast. Depending on the season, the trail may also be carpeted with flowers. Enjoy a barbecue lunch at the end of the trail.

Please note, there is some uneven and challenging terrain on the Path of the Goods, and the route may not be suitable for vertigo sufferers.

Take a scenic ride to Amalfi, and then go for a half-day long kayak along the Coast. After an introductory kayaking lesson, head west to Runghetiello Grotto. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the beaches, rock arches, and old watch towers.

If you do not wish to join the kayaking tour, you can relax on the beach where the tour begins.

The safest period to kayak is from the months of May to September. Outside of this period, the sea conditions may be too rough. If this is the case on your journey, then your tour guide will arrange an alternative activity, such as a day trip to Capri or Sorrento.

Return to the hotel for a final dinner.

After breakfast, bid farewell to your tour guide and fellow travelers. Head to Naples Airport and fly back to London.
